Google Pixel XL smartphone specifications, official pictures revealed

Google will be starting its keynote event in less than 36 hours (Indian time). At the event, the search giant is expected to unveil the Pixel and the Pixel XLsmartphones, a tablet and a Chromecast device. However, popular online retailer Carphonewarehouse has gone ahead and listed Pixel XL with official images and specifications on its website.

As per the listing, Google Pixel XL will feature the same design as seen in multiple leaks earlier. There won't be any OEM branding on the device except for a 'G' suggesting the handset has been completely made under Google's watch. The two smartphones (Pixel and Pixel XL) are seen in Silver and Black colour
variants.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL will sport the company's own 'Google Assistant' which is already present in the Allo messaging app. They will also include Google Duo video messaging app. The company says that the two handsets will also have their own set of Live Cases.

Pixel XL will run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and will come with a 5.5-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) resolution Amoled display with Gorilla Glass 4. It will be powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 with 4GB RAM.

On the camera front, the Pixel XL will feature an 8MP front-facing camera and a 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a larger 1.55um lens that lets the camera capture more light. It will also feature Optical Image Stabilisation for smooth video recording.

Unlike Nexus smartphones, Pixel XL will come with a microSD card slot that can support up to 256GB. It will feature 32GB inbuilt storage. The 4G LTE enabled smartphone will support NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Wi-Fi Hotspot. As seen in the images, a fingerprint sensor is also included at the back.

As for the battery, Pixel XL will be backed by a 3450mAh battery, which will also support fast charging. The battery is rated to deliver up to 456 hours of standby time and 26 hours of talk time. It will measure 154.7 x 75.7 x 8.6 mm, which is smaller and compact than Nexus 6P but slightly thicker. The weight will be almost the same as the Galaxy Note 7 phablet.
